Fluor
Fluor, the largest publicly traded engineering and construction firm in the US at the time, was a fabulous training ground.
They had a formal Strategy to Win program (based on Shipley methods) that actually taught me how to strategically chase and capture work. And as the only person in the marketing group who identified as a writer, the communications director outsourced her writing projects to me.
And I was selected to be part of a key corporate change management team who showed me how to create and implement an enterprise-wide change management effort while working closely with the corporate executive leadership team in California.
On top of that, I met my wife at Fluor.
